Reynoldsburg High School: GirlTALK

Friends are the people you choose to be in your life.

GirlTALK was an intimate conversation with high school students discussing friendships, college, successes/ failures and of course boys! As 2011 alumnus of Reynoldsburg High School, my friends and I want to be a positive example for these girls to see what it’s like on the other side of graduation.

Key takeaways from the conversation include:

• As women we are not in competition

• Not everyone will understand your vision, so dream bigger and go for it

• Anything worth having in life is not going to come easy

• Take the risk, new opportunities can lead you down an exciting path

• Mistakes are okay, just make an effort to learn and grow from them

5 women. 5 different undergrads. 5 different majors. 8 degrees and 1 in doctorate program in progress.

I know my tribe of female friends is a direct result of where I am now. They motivate, challenge, and applaud me when I have needed them most. 14+ years of friendship is not at all easy, but with respect, laughs and communication I see us successfully being able to double that as we enter into new life stages.
