NABA Baruch: Me, Myself, My Hair

March of 2019, I sat on a panel hosted by the NABA Baruch Student Chapter to educate, empower and celebrate natural hair in Corporate America. The panelist in the room ranged from young professionals to hair stylist and natural hair brand representatives. The event started with each student identifying what they loved the most about their hair. Answers ranged from versatility, kinkiness and just simply…because it’s who they are.

To my surprise there were just as many men in the room as there was women. The new minority professionals are demanding that the slogan, “bring your authentic self to work,” includes their hair.

As a former NABA student chapter President, I am proud of the NABA Baruch student chapter’s leadership for hosting this informative event.
